Life's a climb, but the view's great.

Mom and Dad are gone overnight for their anniversary and I got Ching Chong for the night. I always love the nights that we get to hang out, just her and I. I learned that she has a boyfriend. But when I asked her how she knew he was her boyfriend, she said because she liked him hahaha. Then I asked if he liked her back and she said she didn't know. I told her I have felt like that before and she said, "It's annoying when boys act like that, huh?" She's growing up WAY too fast haha. It just makes me all the more grateful that I still get to have nights to enjoy her while she's young. :)

Crazy Love.

I'm in the middle of reading chapter 3 of Crazy Love, and I had a glimpse of how much God loves ME. Little old me. I've had random moments the last couple of weeks where I have had to tell my friends how much they mean to me because I just couldn't hold it in. And tonight, I realized it was His love I was feeling through my friends. Friends that know Him and friends that don't. He was using ALL of my friends (new and old) to pour His love onto me and my heart smiled. I just needed to get that out. My friend recently told me that I need to blog more often as a way to document my life and I thought that this moment is one that I wanted to document so that I could look back on it and remember how I felt when I realized a small glimpse of God's love.

Gal-entine's Day

Yesterday was Galentine's Day! The day before Valentine's day when you can spend some quality time with the "gals" in your life. We made dinner and watched Ever After :)

Late Night Shenanigans...

Disneyland

Last Monday Lauren and I went to Disneyland for a little fun and bonding time.

First ride of the day has to be space mountain...

We had to make a stop to visit the resident cats of California Adventure and one actually came out to visit. It came so close and kept taunting us by sauntering close and then turning around. hah

A little Toy Story Mania action...I was losing all the way until the last game and then I pulled out the win!

Then we learned how to draw Piglet!

:)

Today was a great day. I felt like a had a smile on my face all day. Valentine's day is all about the love, but it doesn't have to be a romantic love. I felt very loved today. I went back to hang out with my old class from last semester. I was nearly knocked to the ground when the kids first saw me on their way to recess. SO many hugs, "I missed you"'s and smiles all around. I felt comfortable...I felt like I was home...I felt like I belonged...I felt happy...I felt lucky. Even though it was a surprise that I was coming to visit, I still got Valentine's and chocolate :) It's amazing how much kids can grow in a month and a half. Can't wait to go back and visit. AND I can't wait for tomorrow night...It's Galentine's Day.
Some valentines from the kids...

Today is Chynna's 8th birthday and she has been begging me to take her skating over the break so Tyler and I took her as her birthday present. She was so excited when we told her the good news this morning.
Brother helping her with her skates.

Group shot! We brought along our cousin Hayley who has never been ice skating! She was a pro :)

Just the girls.

Sibling love <3

Almost fell, but Brother caught her :)

She was the only one to fall out of all of us, but she only fell once!

She finally let go of the wall...haha

Sisterly love <3

We could be twins.

Chynna wanted to take a break because she was hungry so we all bought something from the vending machine. Tyler took the longest to decide but he finally made hte decision to buy sun chips...and what do you know? The bag got stuck. Every little boy that passed the machine saw it as a challenge to try to get the bag out. So funny!

The boy in the black was our hero! Every few minutes he would wander over to shake the machine or try a new technique for getting the bag out. We figured there was no hope so we left. But as soon as we did...

He followed us out on the rink to give Tyler his bag of sun chips! We figured IF he got them out of the machine, he would probably keep them for himself but we were wrong! haha

On our last trip around the rink, Chynna said this was her best birthday ever :)
